At The Booker-Meacham School for Gifted Youngsters, we’re not just inspiring dreams—we’re teaching our kids to roll them up and make them real!
Today, our students stepped into the kitchen to master the art of making a Rolex, a beloved Ugandan delicacy. A Rolex is a mouthwatering street food made with a **chapati**—a soft, flaky flatbread cooked on a hot griddle—layered with fluffy scrambled eggs, juicy tomatoes, and crisp cabbage, all rolled up into a delicious, affordable meal that’s a staple across Uganda. 🫓🥚🍅🥬
This isn’t just cooking—it’s about building confidence, mastering life skills, and sparking empowerment.
As Brother Taurean Meacham always says:
> ✊🏾 “Give kids the tools, and they’ll shape their own destiny.”
Through Operation Just Like Me, Brother Taurean’s passion drives our mission here in Uganda. We’re showing these children they’re not helpless—they’re hopeful. They’re not waiting for a handout—they’re creating their own future.
They’re learning:
🗣 “I am capable. I am enough. I can be just like you.”
And soon, the world will say:
✨ “I want to be just like them.”
Every chapati flipped, every vegetable chopped, is a step toward a future they’re building with their own hands.
Let’s keep nourishing hope and equipping the next generation! 💪
